What Does it Mean to be an Artist

For this video piece, I spoke with seven Bristol-based artists in their studios. My goal was to give participants the opportunity to reflect on how they view their role as artists and their contribution to society. Providing an insider's perspective is an attempt to challenge existing preconceptions about what it means to work as a visual artist. Participating artists: Cliff Andrade, Jo Ball, Katy Connor, Rodney Harris, Éilis Kirby, Bo Lanyon, Sharne Tasney. Interviews took place in January 2024 at Spike Island Studios and Pennywell Studios in Bristol.
